Saturday we took the girls to the zoo. As we were leaving the house in a rush the camera was forgotten so sadly we have no pictures. First we went on the train. If you ask me the train ride needs more animals. Mia enjoyed watching all the animals and would get really upset when we would move to the next exhibit. We ended up spoiling the girls with 2 carousel rides and cotton candy. After seeing all the animals it was time to play at Discovery Land. Mia had, had enough excitement for one day and fell asleep. It was sad to find out that the baby giraffe and the zebras had died, but the new baby elephant was so cute.

Date Night
David really wanted to go to a Jazz playoff game so he bought some tickets and we made a date of it. My sweet sister-in-law babysat so David and I went to the Olive garden and then to the Jazz game. We were really surprised to see that the prices for parking went up. $10 just for parking is crazy. The atmosphere at the game was a lot of fun. I noticed that during the national anthem none of the players held their hands on their hearts and half the crowd wasn't doing it as well. Where is peoples respect? The Jazz won despite Boozer couldn't hit any shots and there was a lot of bad calls by the refs. If the Jazz make it to the next round we plan on going again. Gotta love date night!

Field Trip
Last week was the 1st grade field trip to Utah Natural History Museum. I hadn't been to the museum since I was a child so I was excited. On the way up I had to ride on a separate bus then Aleecia cause there was no room. I was given a group of 6 kids to "keep track of", Aleecia, Asia, Calli, Adam, Sai, and Toi. They were so cute. They just let the kids roam the museum as they pleased. My group would look at one thing then run to the next. We had seen the whole museum in 30 minutes and still had an hour to go. We went back to their favorite things and took a bit longer looking at them. They enjoyed getting their picture taken. They asked me on just about everything to take a picture.
Aleecia's favorite thing the "BIG CRYSTAL".
Drilling holes like the Indians.
Dinosaur bones!
Uncovering Dinosaur bones.
Bus ride home, Aleecia and Cindy.
Everybody liked something different but my favorite part was hearing the funny things they say like:
Kid: "Mrs. Anderson your teeth are yellow."
Kid: "I'm thirsty."
Me: "We are almost to the school and then you can get a drink."
Kid: "I need a really strong drink!"

Easter 2010
Easter wasn't just one day this year it was three. On Saturday we went to our neighborhood annual Easter egg hunt. I pulled my camera out to snap some shots of the girls finding eggs and discovered I forgot to replace the memory card. So sadly I didn't get any pictures. Aleecia didn't find the gold or silver egg and neither did Mia. It was freezing so we didn't stay long.
Saturday night my mom called around 10:00 pm to see when we were coming to visit. Aleecia wanted to talk to her. The next thing I know she is talking about the Easter Bunny. With trying to finish the basement and stuff I hadn't had a chance to get stuff for the Easter Bunny. I thought I might get away with it this year but, grandma got Aleecia all excited. After her conversation with grandma I told Aleecia that grandma was confused and told her the Easter Bunny would come the next night. That seemed to calm her down.
Sunday we went over to grandma Hernandez's house to celebrate. Every year they throw candy all over the grass and have the kids grab what they can (kind of like a pinata that has already been broken).
The Easter Bunny finally made it to our house. Aleecia got a coloring book, a jump rope, and some candy. Mia got jammies, a sippy cup, and some candy. Mia liked the grass in the basket the best.
Aleecia didn't have school on Monday so we went to grandma Talbot's. We colored eggs and had a Easter egg hunt. You can't go to grandma's without getting in the hot tub.
.
Unexpectedly to me there was a huge snow storm Monday night. On our way home I got stuck. I had to turn the car around and made it up the hill the second time. Once I was at the top I couldn't see anything. I called my dad and he and Ben came to the rescue. Apparently my defroster wasn't working properly and my windshield wipers were old. My dad thought that if we could get down to a lower elevation the snow wouldn't be so bad and I would be able to make it home. So, my dad drove my car and Ben and I followed him in his car. My dad got the defroster to warm up and start to work and the snow wasn't as bad once we got to a lower elevation. I told my dad to pull over and I would drive the rest of the way home. He was very hesitant and wanted to take us all the way home but, I told him we would be fine. The rest of the way home wasn't too bad and we made it home safely. Aleecia was glad we made it home. She was worried we would miss her field trip the next day.

Painting
We have been busy painting! It took me forever to pick the colors but in the end I am really happy with it.
Aleecia really wanted to help paint.
Mia really wanted to get down on the ground and get messy.
