Twins?

When I was still pregnant with Mia, Aleecia wondered what she would look like. She thought that they were gonna be "twins". Well, looking at Mia now I really do think they look a lot alike! The only difference I see is Mia is a little darker and has more hair. I think I may just be a bit prejudice but I think I have the most beautiful girls!

Birth Plan, whats that?

You read all the books, you go to all the classes but you never know what your gonna get. I had the most lovely birth plan all typed up and ready to give to my doctor. I thought that since I had had a baby before I would know what to expect. Here is what really happened.

March 20th I woke to some small cramps. Thinking it was just gas pain I went back to sleep. 3:30 I awoke to more cramps. After considering labor I got up, used the bathroom, and got something to drink. I decided to wake up David just in case it was labor. We timed the contractions. They were 2-3 minutes apart and only lasting for 10-20 seconds. David suggested I call the hospital. The nurse on duty told me to drink some water and take a warm bath. If the contractions got worse in an hour to come to the hospital. The warm bath felt good and sure enough the contractions increased to a full minute. David got things ready to go to the hospital. After getting out of the tub the contractions were on top of each other. I decided on the way out to the car to use the bathroom. When I sat down my water broke and the babies head came down into the birth canal. The pain I felt was indescribable! I knew I wasn't going anywhere and told David to call 911. He thought I just wanted to call because I was in so much pain and told me to get in the car (how inconsiderate huh?). I told him that I felt the urge to push! I felt down and felt the babies head and knew we weren't going to the hospital we were going to stay right where we were. David took a look, saw a head, and called 911. I naturally gave one good push. I saw the head come right out and then the rest of the body just followed. Luckily David was there to catch her. Immediate pain relief overwhelmed me. Aleecia grabbed towels and David dried her off and set her on my chest. Aleecia was extremely excited to see her little sister. David tied the umbilical cord off with a shoelace and Aleecia grabbed the aspirator and David cleared the airways. After all the excitement the ambulance arrived. The paramedics gave David clamps and a scalpel to cut the cord. Mia looked perfect! I was feeling great so they helped me onto the gurney and off to the hospital we went. I was suppose to go to Jordan Valley Hospital but because of protocol they took me to Pioneer Valley instead. Shortly after arriving the placenta was delivered and everything was checked out on Mia. If I had to do it all over again I would in a heart beat. Mia is absolutely PERFECT and my Husband is a hero!

We would like to introduce to you Mia Hallee Hernandez

Disney on Ice

We made it to Disney on Ice! Aleecia really enjoyed the show. Dave and I hadn't been to Disney on Ice in years so we had fun too. We ended up spending more money in paraphernalia then the actual tickets. It never ceases to amaze me the prices. We asked Aleecia what her favorite part was and she liked the Lion King and Peter Pan the best. To be honest I was actually waiting for someone to biff it on the ice but no one did. Although Goofy almost lost his head. I think this is something we should do yearly it was a lot of fun.

Aleecia with her $20 wand!
Simba and Nala.

Ariel and Flounder.

Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.

Everybody at the end of the show. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, the Lion King, the Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and Peter Pan.

Baby Shower

My sweet sister-in-law threw me a baby shower last Saturday. My husbands family is so much fun! Thank you so much Isela I had a lot of fun. Here are some of the pictures from the party!

Aleecia was the first to volunteer for the games. Here you had to scoop up as many cotton balls as you could in 20 seconds. Aleecia got none. :(

Here is Lilly, Aleecia, and Erik. Don't they look cute pregnant?

We played a game where one person had to close their eyes and feed the other person an entire jar of baby food. My sister-in-law purposely picked out the grossest baby food they had. My mother-in-law won this game.

Chug, Chug, Chug. Drink the bottle as fast as you can! Have you ever tried this? Its hard.

36 weeks!

I have never been pregnant this long before! Really it is a good thing I have made it this far we don't want to have another preemie. For those who know me know that I am not a patient person so having to wait a couple more weeks is just about killing me. Technically anytime after next week is full term. I am very tempted to try and induce labor by marching up and down my stairs (walking up the stairs seems to bring on braxton hicks). My husband says I can't go until after we go to Disney on Ice. Really its not that far away but, I am so impatient and so ready for this baby. I went to the doctor last Friday and I was dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. I go again next week hopefully I have made some progress. The doctor promised me that I will have this baby this month. I just hate playing the waiting game!
