Universal Studios

We went to Universal Studios. It has changed since I last was there. We rode the new Simpson ride and I would have enjoyed it more had a tall guy not sat in front of me. Shreck 4D was the highlight of the day even though I had to sit in a stationary seat. I had forgotten to bring a blanket and a change of clothes for Mia. So we had to buy another towel so I could feed Mia with some kind of privacy. Then Mia's diaper leaked and we had to buy her something to wear. At least I remembered to pack the diapers and the wipes! The tour has changed a little. I liked it better and David didn't like it as much (I think it is because they took out King Kong).
The girls at Water World.

Sea World

David loves Sea world so while we were in California we had to go. Aleecia was excited to see the dolphins. At the pool the day before she was putting on a dolphin show for us. I really enjoyed all the shows. We sat in the soak zone for the Shamu show and got soaked (thanks grandma for that). Aleecia got to feed the sea lions and Mia got a new towel to nap in (again, grandma thanks for the soak zone experience).

Mia and Mickey

Mia has a bit of a crush on Mickey Mouse. She made out with him the entire trip.

Disneyland

Disneyland is certainly the happiest place on the earth. My mom took us to California just for a fun vacation. On our first day we went to Disneyland. I made the girls Cinderella dresses to wear. Aleecia got a lot of attention and so did Mia. While waiting in line to meet the Princesses people were taking pictures of Mia all dressed up as Cinderella. It was like she was the main attraction. Aleecia has never been a girly girl so my mom and I had a blast watching her prance around in her Cinderella dress. When it came time to meet Cinderella she was so excited and was mesmerized by her. That night we watched the firework display by the Castle and went to see Fantasmic. In the middle of the show all the lights turned on and the ropes were taken away. After standing there for a few minutes we asked what had happened. The employees had no idea what was going on because it had never happened before. After a few more minutes they announced that the show would be unable to continue due to technical difficulties. That is just my luck. It was okay because we got to see the show in its entirety later.

Airplane

Aleecia and Mia took their first airplane ride. Aleecia was unsure about it at first but once we took off I couldn't get her to stop squealing with joy.

"I think I killed her"

The other night I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed when I heard my husband say "Aleecia, get off Mia". Apparently Aleecia had accidentally rolled over onto Mia in the bed. A few moments later Aleecia came into the bathroom. She told me she had to tell me something. She whispered in my ear "Mom I think I killed Mia". She looked like she was about to cry. She seriously thought she had killed her little sister when she rolled onto her. I took her into the bedroom and showed her that Mia was okay she was just sleeping.

Legacy Highway

I have decided that I should avoid driving on Legacy Highway. Monday night I was coming home from my parents house when believe it or not I got pulled over again. The policeman was really nice and didn't give me a ticket (I guess it makes up for the two citations I got when I was 16). It actually turned out to be a good experience. Aleecia got a badge which she wears everyday and I learned some things about car seat safety. I thought it was really important things so I thought I would share the information.

1. The straps should be tight enough were you can only pinch a small amount of the strap.

2. The clip should be positioned at the child's nipple line.

3. Jackets should not be worn in car seats. They provide to much cushion. Blankets should be used instead to keep the child warm.

4. The car seat handle should be all the way back while traveling to allow car seat to function properly in case of an accident.

5. Seat belt should be in the locked position. To do this pull the seat belt all the way out and let seat belt crank tight.

Swimming at Grandmas

Every Monday I take the girls to my parents house to swim. I am determined to teach Aleecia how to swim this summer. Last Monday we just had fun in the pool! Why didn't my parents have the pool when I was a kid?
