Boating

Boating season has begun! We got the boat de-winterized and took it out for a spin. It was Mia's first time out in the boat. She really liked the bumpy waves they put her right to sleep. Aleecia went swimming in the lake even though the water was freezing. Aleecia loves riding on the water weenie so the three of us got to ride. We were scheduled to have family pictures the next day so we were sure to put on the sunblock. David put so much on that he looked like a clown (highlight of my day). I ended up getting burnt. Just on my back where I couldn't reach so, we didn't have to cancel our appointment. For some reason being out on the lake makes one really tired and we all (except David, he was driving of course) fell asleep on the way home. We all had a lot of fun and can't wait to go again.

Kindergarten Program

Aleecia had her Kindergarten Program. It brought back memories of when I was in Elementary. They sang a bunch of songs with little actions to go along with the song. My favorite song they sang was counting and they had to do the numbers in sign language. It was so funny to watch Aleecia concentrating so hard on her hand to make the numbers in sign language. The program was about 30 minutes long and towards the end Aleecia started to yawn and rub her eyes. She looked a little bored, but the little girl next to her knew all the songs and tried to sing them out loud. It was so fun to see Aleecia in her program and I am so excited to see more.

Immunizations

Yesterday was Mia's 2 month check-up. She weighed 12lb. 2oz. putting her in the 80th percentile, She was 23 1/2" long putting her in the 90th percentile and her head circumference was in the 20th percentile. So basically she has a big body and a little head.

Unfortunately at 2 months they have to get shots. 3 shots and drops in their mouths to be exact. Aleecia had to come and told me she was gonna cry when Mia got her shots I told I was too. Luckily the MA was quick and Mia was brave. Aleecia said she closed her eyes. Mia got shots and Aleecia got the stickers, go figure. The worst thing about immunizations is the fever that follows. My poor little baby was not feeling very good yesterday and sleep most of the day. Last night her fever got up to 100.7. We got her naked and gave her some Tylenol and it dropped right down. Today she is a little cranky but still seems to give me a smile every once in a while.

SIDS

So, I have been a bad girl and have gone against the pediatricians advise and I put Mia on her tummy for naps. She doesn't sleep very good during the day and I have found that if I lie her on her tummy she sleeps much better. Honestly I don't care if people call me a bad mother. I figure her getting better sleep out weighs the risk of SIDS. My mom always put me to sleep on my tummy and I was okay. So, I am going to continue putting Mia on her tummy for naps.

Mothers Day

I had a pretty eventful mothers day this year. It started out great. Mia had slept well the night before so I felt pretty rested. I had decided to spend the day with my mom since Dave had to work. I got a late start and didn't want to be too late for church so I was speeding down Legacy Highway. Then I looked out my rear view mirror and what should I see to my horror, that's right I got pulled over. The last time I got pulled over I was 16 and I ended up getting cited for 2 violations. Luckily the cop took pitty on me and just warned me to slow down. I finally arrived to church, late. Mia had a dirty diaper so I had to change her. Just when I was getting comfortable listening to the talk Mia decided she was hungry. As I was in the mothers lounge feeding her I was listening to the talk on the speaker. I heard a phone go off and was offended that someone would bring a cell phone to church. Then I realized that dummy could be ME. It was. During Relief Society Mia pooped. It was so loud that I am sure the whole building heard it. So, shamelessly I had to walk out to change a poopy diaper. After church my dad said I should come more often for the comic relief. Just what I wanna be "the comic relief". Just to add to my anxiety Aleecia decided to pour herself a big glass of Vinegar to drink while I was trying to feed Mia. Thankfully my dad was there to fix her little problem. Every year Davids family goes to the park to celebrate mothers day. I ended up driving to the wrong park. Just when I was about to get to the correct park David called me and told me they decided on a completely different park on the other side of town. So, I had to turn the car around and head to yet another park. Once I found them the rest of the night fell into place. After my eventful day I am reminded that there isn't anything better than being a mother!

My mothers day gift from Aleecia!

ANTM

Aleecia is Americas next top Model. Lately it seems like all I do is feed Mia. With breastfeeding all you can do pretty much is watch T.V. I've been watching alot of Americas next top Model and Aleecia picked up on some of the "modeling posses".
